IKEA

Ikea has announced it is shutting down its Coventry city centre store in the summer, putting 352 jobs at risk. This marks the first closure of a large Ikea outlet in the UK. The Swedish retail giant said it is closing the store as it has made "consistent losses" since opening in 2007. Ikea said it would try to find staff members jobs at other stores, adding that it remains committed to growth in the UK. Ikea went on to say changing customer behaviour has seen visitor numbers drop as shoppers turn to retail parks and online.
