DIESEL CARS

The government is banning the sale of new petrol, diesel and hybrid cars in the UK from 2035, which is five years sooner than the current deadline of 2040. In fact, Boris Johnson said the ban would come even earlier than 2035, if possible. Experts claim the UK wouldn't achieve its zero carbon emissions target by 2050 if the ban deadline were to remain at 2040. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders labelled the move "extremely concerning" and said it doesn't help to encourage manufacturers to sell and build here.
