Persimmon CEO plans to step down (New Affordable Housing)

Persimmon CEO David Jenkinson has announced plans to stand down just 15 months after being tasked with rebuilding the reputation of Britain’s second-biggest housebuilder, following a deluge of complaints over poor construction and big payouts to executives. Persimmon also revealed a 4.6% fall in 2019 pre-tax profit to £1.04bn. It comes just months after an independent review of housing firm Persimmon found the company failed to meet minimum building standards. Earlier this week a new industry watchdog was announced, with the power to ban rogue developers and award compensation to those left with “shoddy” new homes.
